Working Area
The working area should always be positioned between 800 mm and 1,500 mm in height. Avoid working above heart level or below 800 mm.
Reach Area
All containers, equipment and controls should be easily accessible and positioned within the operator’s natural and ergonomic range of motion.
Parts Supply
All reaching distances should be kept as short as possible. Parts and picking containers should therefore be positioned within easy reach of the operator.
Field of Vision
Unnecessary head and eye movements should be avoided. Positioning objects at the same distance from the operator’s eyes reduces the need for constant refocusing.
Lighting
Good lighting helps prevent premature fatigue, improves concentration and reduces the risk of errors. Strong contrasts, glare and reflections should be avoided.
